Situated about 135 km south west of Jaipur, Ajmer is a popular pilgrimage centre for the Muslims who come not only from all over the country but also from abroad, especially to the Dargah Sharif - tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.
Ajmer is also the base for visiting Pushkar (15 km) which has the only Brahma temple in the world and where the Pushkar Lake is known as a sacred spot for Hindus.
