Shekhawati is a semi desert region in north Rajasthan and it is situated in the triangle between Delhi, Bikaner and Jaipur. Shekhawati means the garden of Shekha and the whole region is dotted with so many havelis that tracking them can become a treasure hunt. The havelis are famous for their paintings representing mythological scenes or huge animals, and even the arrival of the British with the highligh of steam locomotives and train. There are also forts, minor castles, mosques, wells called baoris and chattris to discover.
